It is such a personal decision that only you and your husband can make together. Of course, God is ultimately in control, but it sounds like you know that! ;-) Best wishes to you in your new marriage and may God bless you abundantly!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10078522964286003583noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5937303870758455964.post-35284136519203100302018-09-14T14:04:38.708-04:002018-09-14T14:04:38.708-04:00It's a lot!! Lots of talks and confession sessions later, I really feel so much peace about it. The funny thing is, we've always used NFP our entire marriage "to avoid" and become pregnant every time in spite of that. SO God can work His will, no matter what!Colleenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11451797365712728579noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5937303870758455964.post-13687774102232164822018-09-14T14:02:15.996-04:002018-09-14T14:02:15.996-04:00Thank you, I know it will :)Thank you, I know it will :)Colleenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11451797365712728579noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5937303870758455964.post-52656914730554914132018-09-14T14:01:49.711-04:002018-09-14T14:01:49.711-04:00Thank you! As I started to get into my teenage years, I still didn't give the topic of marriage or children much thought. I always went back and forth. Sometimes I thought it might be nice to have children, and other times I didn't. It wasn't until I started learning about the Catholic faith that I had the no-contraception-bomb dropped on me! It was actually my now-husband who told me about that. I remember, after some thought, thinking, "Well, I could make that sacrifice for the person I love." I became Catholic in 2015. One year and a half before my recent wedding, I started learning Creighton. However, since that time, I've gotten so many mixed messages about the proper use of NFP. For example, my husband and I are using Creighton to avoid at the moment. We would be open to a child of course, and we do want children. However, I'm the only one working while my husband finishes graduate school, among other factors. My husband (who's a saint) even said we'd make due if we had a surprise baby, but that it probably wouldn't be prudent to have one on purpose...On that note, I've read a lot about "grave reasons" and embracing children even in tough situations. But then I read about the importance of prudence. And about how it's impossible to adopt a "contraceptive mentality" while using NFP, just because it's literally all about openness to the will of God. All these mixed messages have my head spinning! (My apologies for the monologue.)OddGhoulOuthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18418482960938732738noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5937303870758455964.post-42029437347223173932018-09-13T15:44:23.587-04:002018-09-13T15:44:23.587-04:00❤️❤️R's Ruehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05711563217099699047noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5937303870758455964.post-86841987348292241772018-09-13T10:24:24.958-04:002018-09-13T10:24:24.958-04:00Beautiful ... and that quote is perfect!
