Some pictures from yesterday, Corpus Christi Sunday:
In a city near us, there is a procession each year where the Sacred Body of Christ is carried through the streets and then stops at 3 churches along the way. We decided the kids wouldn't be able to walk the whole way, and we waited for 2 hours met up with the group at the second church.
It was a beautiful, sunny day:
Once they came, we joined in and the second half was still a 2 hour affair! Some children needed to be carried:
While others slept in strollers:
And others willed themselves awake. But happy!
John-Paul helped Grandpa carry the speaker from time to time to give him a break. A little Simon :)
The street was decorated with beautiful flowers:
And finally, a video as the group was approaching and entering the second church:
I would like to live in new england. that is all.
ReplyDeleteThey did that in our old church in California but these traditions are foreign here for whatever reason. We did it there and it was very meaningful. Oddly, I was watching the procession on ewtn at their studio grounds that morning and thinking ohh that's just what we did in CA on corpus Christi but I did not connect in my brain that it actually was corpus christi
ReplyDeleteI have not actually known the date since I had the baby. I am in mommy brain mode.
It was so good to see you all there! Perfect weather.
