Happy last (!) Friday of June!
It's that time of year when the days roll into a summer daze and I can't remember much unless I have photographic evidence, so that's how this post shall be written.
Last Saturday morning had Maggie and I attending a Spin class, which was fun and sweaty:
Maggie babysat on Saturday afternoon and brought this cutie-patootie to Mass with her, which was so fun! She did great, barely made a peep, and didn't even cry or run after Maggie when Maggie had to go up to lector. Can I be a grandmother soon, pleeeeease? I mean, after they find love and marriage, of course.
We celebrated Father's Day by running in our town's Father's Day 5k - well, I don't like to race anymore and JP was away at a wedding, and Maggie hates running in general, but the rest of the boys did it for Team Ice Cream Cottage:
Then we went to an outdoor restaurant on the water for lunch with the kids who weren't working/wedding-ing:
And wrapped up the evening by going out to dinner with the Xander and Maggie, our day shift workers:
The kids chipped in to take Phil golfing (in the future) and to a casino, where everybody lost money:
Heehee.
It's been the first full week of summer for our kiddos, so they are doing some summery things! The youngest four went to see Toy Story 5 and said it was really good, and that Phil and I would like it because we hate screen time for kids. We do, it's true:
Declan and Brendan also attended Track and Field Camp at Phil's highschool and had a great time. They were very vocal about which camps they hated last year and never wanted to do again, but this one made the cut!
Declan had Phil make a slo-mo video of him vs. the leaf blower, and I think the leaf blower won:
Brendan has been learning some Michael Jackson dance moves:
The littles got summer buzzcuts from Eamon and then I saw them sitting in front of our Mary grotto. Looks like they were praying, but nope just shucking corn for dinner! Maybe praying too, who am I to judge?

Maggie won another outside scholarship, and attended a little awards ceremony. She has now won more money in outside scholarships than she owes for her Freshman year at Franciscan - woohoo! God is good, all the time. All the time, God is good.
The Ice Cream Cottage appeared on the tv show, Chronicle and we all yelled and laughed and cringed seeing ourselves on tv:

Always busy, you Martins! Maggie is such a natural, holding that little sweetheart. Congratulations to her on applying and winning those scholarships!
ReplyDeleteI understand the yearning for grandchildren- but I am two weeks away from my first grandbaby! I wish my daughter was closer ( 6hrs) but I'll get snuggles in come heck or high water. You'll get your turn one day- you and Phil have provided a great example of how kids are a joy! So your kids will have families one day.
Two weeks away! So exciting! Is this the doctor or another daughter? And what's your grandma name going to be?
DeleteIt's doctor daughter- she's keeping sex and name secret. I don't mind-I get a grandchild regardless! She's on a rotation where's she's just filling in as needed- thank goodness.
DeleteThat is amazing that Maggie is making money going to college, what a blessing!
ReplyDeleteFor the first year, she is overed...after that it's her scooping money!
DeleteThat video was so fun to watch.
ReplyDeleteAs per usual, it looks like a jam-packed week. And also like everyone is living their best lives! That's amazing about Maggie's scholarships (also not a surprise; goodness your kids are such hard workers and also obviously naturally very intelligent!), all the ice cream looks amazingly delicious (I want to try it all), and love that the boys have some fun camps to look forward to.
I gotta say it's so much fun when there's big kids (young adults) in the mix - life is never boring! Thank you for the kind comment and support :)
DeleteSeems like such a full and busy week! Full of LIFE and FUN!
ReplyDeleteI wonder why I am always so tired - heehee!
DeleteAw, your workout buddy. So great that she made that much in scholarship money. Way to go, Maggie! The new flavors look awesome. That 'me in a good mood' meme is a riot. Very relatable. The left blower photo is a hoot. I'm wondering if we can watch the episode on youtube (like on our television). I'm gonna have to see if my kids can figure that out for me. ;)
ReplyDeleteYou can! Well at least I can easily on our tv's. For Mother's Day, I got a clean house so I was like that should be his Father's Day present too :)
DeleteLoved the video!! Have a wonderful summer 😊
ReplyDeleteHello! I loved the video!!!!! I loved everything about it. I loved hearing your voice!! LOL, I would love to try a scoop of the coffee. And the raspberry. Your family is beautiful, my friend. And congratulations to Maggie! Have a wonderful summer!
