Happy Friday!
We took the kids (minus Maggie who was scooping and JP who's back at school) to Scarborough Beach this past weekend, and it was such a nice time. We are so lucky to live in such a beautiful area!

Best Beach Snack. I also love my swim shorts and rash guard
Andrew stayed for a couple days with a friend's family in Rhode Island, and had a blast going to the beach, golfing and tubing:

Maggie woke up early to see the sunrise and is still hanging out with friends for "probably the last time before college". I've squeezed in a couple of dates with her this weekend for some girl time before she leaves.
I was looking up a kid's whereabouts, and it just struck me to see The Ice Cream Cottage listed as a location. Like, we built that little business from nothing and now it's literally on the map:
The Peach Dole Whip was a huge hit this week:

A little crooked, but omg it tastes like gummy peach candies!
Lucy Doodle turned 10!!! She got her hairs did, had a Greenie, and posed awkwardly for me. I think she's embarrassed by the bandana the groomer puts on her:
We took Andrew and Declan top Costco to help Andrew get some groceries for his off-campus house this year, and the Halloween stuff was out already. Ugh. Too soon.
The littles were finally able to try the Solar S'mores to mixed success. The chocolate melted but the marshmallow did not get gooey. They still ate it!

Then they played in the sprinkler and jumped on the trampoline, just like almost every other summer afternoon.

Phil had them clean out the van before our big trip out to college next week, and they look appropriately thrilled:
But then Brendan's godmother came by to give him an early birthday present, and he was actually thrilled!
We took Andrew and Eamon out for an end of the summer dinner last night...
Still rocking the Minion shirt

... and then Andrew drove off early this morning to head back to Franciscan for his Senior year :(
He will be the Men's Soccer Team Manager this year and also the Head of the same Mission Trip he went on last year, so he had to get back early for work and a retreat. Dang this summer went by way too quick.

Busy busy busy! I hope Maggie has an awesome first year of college! Another mission trip for Andrew? When the time comes, please include the fund raising link.
ReplyDeleteAnd best wishes to everyone as they start back at school!
ReplyDeleteMe: Don't they look amazing?
Phil: They look like they own a gym.
*pause*
Phil: And we look like we own an ice cream store.
Hahaha!
As always... so many fun, busy things happening, Colleen. I'm tired just reading about it, but also it looks delightful. What a perfect beach day, too.
They look like they own a gym . . .and we own an ice cream shop. So funny. Phil always seems to rock the one liners. And he gets the kids to clean out the van. You def married well. ;) We did not make it to the beach this summer, but I pointed out to Coach that we did get a ton of beach time in Florida over spring break. You are lucky to live somewhere so pretty. The beach in Chicago is great, but getting there isn't easy. As I type this we just dropped Curly off at college. It went so well - she is so happy and excited. There were no tears. As we are on day two of our drive home, I'm feeling like she is just SO far from home. Safe travels and best of luck dropping Maggie off. xo
