Faith and Family Weekend

On Saturday, I was able to attend the Boston Catholic Women's Conference. It was great! A day away from all the stresses of life, with plenty of time to hear encouraging talks, go to Mass, have Eucharistic Adoration, and the Sacrament of Confession. What a nice Lenten day!

That's Laura on the right (with her tiny pregnant belly), and Christina is on the other side of me - pray for her as she is discerning a call to Religious Life!

Pat organized the trip - she is a wonder woman! Our parish had enough women to fill 2 buses! And the conference was completely sold out with 2,000 women in attendance. Just beautiful!

Cardinal Sean O'Malley welcomed us and celebrated Mass.

This is Leah Darrow, a former model (she was even on America's Next Top Model) who had a conversion and now speaks about modesty, chastity and purity.

Martin & Charlene Doman (FUS alumni) sang so beautifully!

Sister Olga of the Eucharist gave the best talk of all!! She has an AMAZING story - you can read a little about her here.
On Sunday, we had such a nice family day. We took the kids swimming at the newest YMCA in our area that has a zero-entry pool with fountains and a water slide. They loved it! John-Paul even learned how to do somersaults and back flips in the water.
And after we ate too much at Red Robin :)

It's so nice to be able to spend the weekend doing things that are so important and too often neglected. Without faith and family, I would be so lost, and I want to make sure that I never take them for granted.
