I thought this was a great article about Mel Gibson's shenanigans recently.
~
It reminds me of the saying, "There but for the grace of God go I."
~
Because there is a devil.
~
He does know our weaknesses.
~
And he will tempt us.
~
We must pray for the strength to persevere in our faith.
Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host
-by the Divine Power of God -
cast into hell, Satan and all the evil spirits,
who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.
Amen.
Thanks for posting the link to this article. I think it perfectly explains it. Good reminder and good to read after all of Mel's latest. It's been bothering me every time it comes up and quite honestly, scaring the heck outta me too! Yes, evidence that satan is real and he will tempt and use us in ways he sees fit. So hard to watch someone who only a few years ago was so convicted in his Catholicism wander so very far away.
ReplyDeletei've been thinking of mel gibson a lot and i had the same thoughts. in my opinion, when you do things that are close to god that is when the devil fights you even harder than most...to win you back.
ReplyDeleteand I often say to myself, but for the grace of god go I.
That is a good article!
ReplyDeletegood article... i also read recently that Anne Rice is struggling with her faith and was saddened because I feel that her recent books on the life of Christ were such a testimony. I feel that Hollywood and media can definately be demons in our society.
ReplyDeleteThank-you for sharing that link. I have felt much sadness in Mel's turn about in behavior and values and it explains it so well (and makes so much sense).
ReplyDeleteFor that very same reason we pray that every night together!
