I had a great night's sleep last night and woke up thinking that this would be a nice day to go into labor. I took the kids to Mass (unfortunately had to leave early because it was too hot and humid for me), went to the gym and walked 4 miles on the treadmill, then took the kids to see a free movie in the theater.
After that we went home for lunch and naps, and when Phil got home from work, he took the kids out swimming (in our little pool) and biking at the nearby high school parking lot. While they were gone, I started having contractions about 15-20 minutes apart. They came home, we gave the kids dinner, and I drove to my parents house who live much closer to the hospital than we do. Phil got the kids finished eating, cleaned up the house, and got the last minute things packed up. Then he drove them over while I took a shower and walked around timing contractions.
We just put the kids to bed now, and my contractions are about 5 minutes apart for the last half hour or so, but not painful yet so we are waiting around to decide when to go to the hospital. I hope this is the real thing because I'm so excited to meet this little one :) Here's a picture my mom just took of us:
So please pray that everything goes smoothly and hopefully the next post will be a picture of Baby Boo on the outside instead of on the inside (and I can stop yelling at Phil trying to take pictures of my huge belly)!!!
Oh I really hope so!! I'll call out the big guns for intercession: Our Blessed Mother, St. Anne, St. Gerard, St. Margaret, pray for Colleen! :)

ReplyDeletePax Christi - Lena
O Great Saint Gerard, beloved servant of Jesus Christ, perfect imitator of your meek and humble Savior, and devoted Child of the Mother of God: enkindle within my heart one spark of that heavenly fire of charity which glowed in your heart and made you an angel of love. O glorious Saint Gerard, because when falsely accused of crime, you did bear, like your Divine master, without murmur or complaint, the calumnies of wicked men, you have been raised up by God as the Patron and Protector of expectant mothers. Preserve me from danger and from the excessive pains accompanying childbirth, and shield the child which I now carry, that it may see the light of day and receive the lustral waters of baptism through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
I will include you in my night prayers!

Oh my goodness, oh my goodness, oh my goodness! I cannot wait to meet your newest little sugarplum! I'll definitely be praying for peace, and for a safe and healthy delivery for you both.
ReplyDeleteLove you, sweetie!
Yay for you! Hopefully it's the real deal! And then I'll be really jealous. I woke up in the middle of the night last night, and prayed that God would allow me to go into labor if the baby was ready. I had 2 strong contractions and then fell asleep, so I guess it's not time yet. :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck!!
