First Few Days

Thursday after work, Maggie and I went to the hairdresser to get our vacation started on a fashionable foot.  Maggie is deathly afraid of braids, and as I watched the hairdresser start doing her hair after the cut, I was shocked that Maggie was allowing it.  She was very quiet and as soon as it was over, ran into me, buried her face in my lap and started crying.  The poor hairdresser had no idea Maggie hated braids.  So I told Maggie they were "twists", not braids and she agreed to keep them in until we got home to show Dad.  She looked so adorable, I wish she would let us do this more often.

We left for Maryland at 4 am, and all the kids slept in the car for awhile.  As soon as we were about an hour from home, I realized I forgot my real camera.  So it's phone pictures for the rest of this vacation.

We celebrated Alexander's first birthday along with Gramps and Aunt Diana's birthdays.  Xander loved his ribs that Nana made for dinner (he takes after you, Gammy!).

I was trying to take a picture here of all the cousins' cups lined up before dinner.  Phil's parents have 12 grandchildren, aged 5 months up to 10 years old.  It makes for a loud and fun get-together!

He got a sweet ride from his Aunt Larisa and Uncle Bob:

Seriously, have you ever seen a red wagon so little or cute?

On Sunday, Aunt Denise (who is a Sister) came to visit and brought Nun Cookies from a reception she had just been at:

And now we are packing to go to Williamsburg for a few days.  I'll be back soon with more terrible quality photos.  Urgh, how could I have forgotten my camera??

  2. It could be worse. I forgot... actually brought but the battery died and I forgot my charger and there were NO chargers for sale on the top of a mountain... anyhow, let's just say I "forgot" my camera on my HONEYMOON!

  3. Cute braids. I hated braids as a child too but now I torture my kids with them. They pull them out about 10 mins after I finish them but they are cute while they last.

  7. Her hair looks so cute! I brought our camera on vacation with us, but left it at the house about 95% of the time!! So I know how you feel. Have fun in Williamsburg . . . that is our favorite place!

  8. I hope you guys were able to squeeze in Busch Gardens!!! It was so good to see you all. I'm also sad that it took me three years to find that awesome bagel shop...right next door to my house!
