Let's take a quick inventory on this Monday since I can't form a coherent thought lately :)
Thinking
About a baby's name. We have known it's a boy for 2 months, and still no name. And Kate and her readers even did their best to give us some great sugestions! It's getting ridiculous, and there are lots of names we like, but nothing we love.
Hoping
That a mom I know can successfully fight her battle with cancer, but it's not looking good, and I cry every time I think about her and her two boys and her husband. Things like this shake my faith a little, and can't help but get mad when bad things happen to good people.
Praying
For a healthy and non-colicky baby to be born early. We've had two colicky babies out of six, and I feel like we're due for another but don't think my nerves could handle it...so praying for a happy and peaceful little guy who will come safely before his due date. Is that too much to ask?
Eating
A modified 17 day diet for me but Phil is doing the real thing and lost ten pounds in a week. So he follows the plan, and I do mostly, except I add in chocolate and bread and chips every once in a while. Because the baby needs it ;)
Cooking
Lots of veggies and proteins. We had zoodles and meat sauce last night.
Every day we eat plain greek yogurt with strawberries, egg muffins (with turkey sausage, onions, peppers, cheese and spinach), and protein shakes using our Magic Bullet (with this protein powder, frozen fruit, almond milk, and spinach). It's boring but totally doable.
Creating
A human ~20 weeks and 5 days old. Just barely starting to feel him move, as my placenta is on the outside wall and acting as a cushion for his little punches and kicks.
Exercising
I'm walking and doing this pregnancy DVD workout when it's not nice enough to walk outside or I can't fit it in before it's too dark.
Reading
Hmmmm, blogs not books, does that count?
Listening
To podcasts while I walk - Fountains of Carrots, Ghost Fawn Podcast, and Catholic Stuff You Should Know.
Watching
Planet Earth with the kids, tv comedies with Phil, and Gilmore Girls by myself because I never watched it back in 2006 when it came out - too busy having kids or something.
Upcoming
Our kitchen floor is being sanded and refinished, then the island is being constructed, and the electrician is coming to finish his work. The house remodel should be complete by the end of April, right in time for Maggie's First Communion on May 1st! Nothing like cutting it close to the wire! We also have our spring break next week, and can't wait for some time off of work and school.
Oh and the Scentsy Giveaway ends on Wednesday night...only 26 people have entered, so the odds of winning are ever in your favor :)
What's going on in your neck of the woods?
I'm getting my butt in gear and doing the 17 day diet. It just sucks because pizza is soooooo good. I actually pounded and grilled a piece of chicken and then put the pizza sauce and topping on it. It was really good, but not the real thing. Going to be better this week hopefully with a bunch of salad and yogurt.
ReplyDeleteI'm convinced that good bacteria in mom during pregnancy and after are key to a happy content newborn. I really think these poor babies that are so fussy are just suffering from tummy issues due to not enough good bacteria to help them digest. That and learning how to nurse well so that baby is getting both fore and hindmilk have made my last two newborns so so easy. So get you on some awesome probiotics, girl. And pray for a happy content baby. Because we did that, too :)
ReplyDeleteI'm 36 weeks pregnant, and we still don't have a name picked out! We don't know the gender, and we're just planning on naming the baby sometime after he or she is born.
ReplyDeleteWith my first pregnancy, we named our baby the day we "found out" the gender. It turned out that the sonographer was wrong and we had a girl NOT a boy. Haha...so we didn't name her until the day after she was born. It was a really neat experience to name her after meeting her.

When we were at the library last week, there was a family with two boys and their names were Brendan and Desmond and I thought of baby boy Martin. :) I'm sure they've flown across your radar already, I just thought it was funny. Any Irish boys name that pops up I think of you!
ReplyDeleteYou look fantastic Colleen!!!
ReplyDeleteSo, what about the name Cian? Peter has a friend at schook with that name. It's pronounced Kee-in. He is the nicest kud you would ever want to meet and you can't get more Irish than that!
ReplyDeleteWe had zoodles tonight! Yum! The name will come. :) I just know it.
