Week(end) in Review: Halloween and All Saints and Traveling Kids

First off, a game.

Where in the World is Andrew Pauric Martin?

Did you sing that to the Carmen Sandiego tune like I did?

He's in Italy!  All of the students on the Austrian campus are on their 10 Day Break to Rome and Assisi.  It's an awesome school trip, and Andrew and some friends actually left a day early to see Capri, Italy first before meeting up with everyone in Rome.

Andrew and the Lovely Ladies

Andrew and Smiles, twinning

In case you think it's all visiting historical sites and getting cultured at museums around the world, here's a reminder that they are still dumb fun college kids:

JP returned from his week in Ohio and is currently sitting by the phone waiting on the word when his job will start.  This has been a long time coming between interviews and a start date, so we're all a little impatient, in particular JP's wallet.

Just because he loves the drama (totally kidding, he's anti-drama) Phil's elbow blew up last week, painful and swollen.  He went to the doctor who said it was bursitis, then had him go do x-rays and blood tests just to make sure.  The x-ray was fine, as were the blood tests except one that showed he had significant inflammation/infection.  Duh.  When it started getting red and hot, Phil reached out again and got on antibiotics.  Is this what getting old is?

Halloween came and went with much too much candy collected:

The neighbor's house - boo!

The next day, all the saints went marching down to the church from the school:

Brendan, trying to ignore me

Declan dressed as Saint Giuseppe Moscati and Brendan was St. Joseph whose beard was delivered a few hours after he had gone to school, sadly.  But we're ready for next year!

I told him to grab our sleeping Saint Joseph to remind us who he was:

Declan had his second to last soccer game this weekend, Brendan had a FIVE HOUR swim meet, Phil started a sanding/painting project in our hallway after yet another person got a splinter on our banister, I was able to go out to breakfast with a friend, the weekly chore chart was completed by all, Phil and I squeezed in a lunch date, the Commanders won, leaves were raked, daylight was saved, and overall it was a pretty nice fall weekend.

Tomorrow we vote in the first presidential election and now that some of my kids are old enough - there are five Martin voters in our house, how exciting!  Like everyone in America, I can't wait for this election to be over.

  1. Poor Phil. That looks so painful.
My kids got waaayyy too much candy, but we ration it out over months and give some away, so I actually like all the loot. I don't have to buy any treats for MONTHS!
