Oui oui, je suis tres cultivee.
1) Maggie.
A face only a mother could love!
She is by far my favorite daughter - hahaha, especially when she writes me notes like this:
"Dear Mom I No (know) you were mad. I still love you." And then Xander helped color it.
2)
Running for a cause.
I was able to participate in the 2nd Virtual Run for The Little Flowers. Last year, I ran it on the dreadmill:
Disappointed that it took me longer than 25 minutes. |
I honestly remember thinking I looked fat in this photo last year. Can I go back and smack myself? |
My, my, my, what a difference a year makes. Same dreadmill, mucho slower-o pace-o:
It's called waddling. Hey, that's a W for Theme Thursday! |
18 weeks, and that's sweat, not pregnancy glow. |
But I am happy, happy, happy to participate and help such a wonderful organization that helps Chinese orphans. I wish I could take them all home.
3)
Edy's Outshine Lime Popsicles
Me + Pregnancy = Lime Popsicle Cravings |
With only 70 calories a pop, much better than my other current dessert obsession:
Y U No Good 4 Me? |
4)
I've written about it before, but my kids are still going strong with their love affair for making these bracelets. John-Paul is even using them as a form of currency "I'll help you with your homework if you make me a starburst bracelet." And they do. And he does.
5)
Coming home every day.
Because I get a huge "MOM'S HOME!!!!!" complete with squeals and hugs from my cherubs.
Even from the naughty one:
"You home, Mama? You home?" "Yes, I'm home." "Yay! You home!!!!!!" |
Those limecicles? Yes. Forever yes. Aren't they the best? When I was pregnant last time, they were one of the only things that made me not want to find a hole and die in from nausea.
ReplyDeleteYou seriously ran last year's 5K in under 30 minutes? We can never go running together. Ever.
Well, maybe right now, what with your waddling and all. But that's it.
Don't worry, after this baby, it will take me a long time to get back to that speed. We should be able to run together from April 2014 through March 2015. Plan a race.
DeleteI think Santa is planning on bringing Sarah a Rainbow Loom for Christmas. I hope the fad isn't over by then!
ReplyDeleteOh, and at least you are still running! I have used this pregnancy as an excuse to be lazy. I'm sure I'm going to regret it in April!
ReplyDeleteNo no no no no. Not running anymore. Just walking, elliptical, and weights. When I feel like it ;)
DeleteI am getting my niece a rainbow loom for Christmas because you (and everyone else) has just been raving about it. Plus I like that it's something to do. You look great! Especially after a 5K!
ReplyDeleteShe will love it (and so will her parents!)
DeleteMy kids never got into those bracelets. they have never made one nor do we own one made by anyone else.
ReplyDeleteBut those lime things? I need to try that. looks really good.
Kim,
DeleteIf you want some time to yourself...BUY THIS LOOM! Haha, seriously they will stay out of your hair for quite a while :)
You look great...both last year and this year.
ReplyDeleteWhenever my husband comes home, all the kids run up to him and give him big hugs. Whenever I come home from something, no one notices or cares (or the groan, because it means that they have to get off the computer or do chores or something). LOL
Yes, it was a nice turn of events to get to be a parent who comes home from work :)
DeleteMary Catherine's getting a Rainbow Loom THIS WEEKEND from her Auntie! Chris and I are headed to Eureka Springs, Arkansas for an Anniversary get-away. My MIL is babysitting and my SIL is helping Grandma out. She asked if Mary had one of those looms. No, but she's encouraged many-a-friend to make those for her. They're all the rage at Mary and Ben's Catholic school! :)
ReplyDeleteThey are so popular, and have been for months!!! Have an awesome weekend away, and Happy Anniversary!
DeleteYou are the cutest pregnant lady ever.
ReplyDeleteYou are amazing. That's all I have to say.
Thanks but Katrina wins: http://cedarsandtinyflowers.blogspot.com/2013/10/38-weeks.html
DeleteOk, whatever, she's pretty cute, I can't deny that, but I don't know her, so you are the cutest pregnant lady to me. Ever.
DeleteI want to go back in time and smack some sense into you too! Fit then, fit now. Keep on waddling.
ReplyDeleteIt's sad how I never feel good about myself in the moment, only when looking back at old photos and realizing I should have been strutting my stuff! Ha!
DeleteColleen - my younger boys are almost 9 and 10 1/2 - Rainbow Loom for them?? I've heard great things about it, but they have never expressed an interest. Just wondering, since you have boys that age, too. Thanks!! And you look adorable, btw!
ReplyDeleteYes, my oldest boys are the same ages, and they are the two who are "into" it the most, because they can learn all the different styles to make. My 7 year old can do almost all the styles as well, and my 5 year old hasn't mastered it at all yet (although I think she just likes to make her brothers make her bracelets!). The amazon price is about $33 and I've heard you can get it at Michael's or AC Moore for half of that...so check around!
DeleteAwesome - thanks!
DeleteSally, the very sweetest of my children, left me this note yesterday:
ReplyDelete"mom, you know we love you, but you got to let your kids have some fun some time." If that's how she feels, I hate to think what the others would write me. She and Maggie, always telling us what's up.
We need to stop praying for humility ;)
DeleteAh, Xander. Y U make me cry? Such a sweetie.
ReplyDeleteRainbow Loom is going on the Christmas list!
You are and were a hot mama. Keep it up, Colleen!
Your "my favorite daughter" comment had me laugh out loud. A long, long time ago (25 years in fact), I helped welcome my first brother-in-law into the family. I always joked and called him my favorite BIL. When I eventually gained another, I accidentally let the phrase slip in front of my second BIL. I was horrified then, but can totally laugh about it now.
ReplyDeleteStill, way to go, waddling or not. You are cute, cute, cute all baby Martini belly and naughty child to boot. Thanks for the smile!
ReplyDelete*sigh* if you want to go running with me be prepared to do a lot of walking. I heard that and was like, Oh... that's so me. Great job momma!
ReplyDeleteYou are such a runner, you!
ReplyDeleteLove how you are still so small although I'm sure you feel big these days!
And love Xander hugs!
Just catching up Colleen-you look so great right now! Honestly. And I wish I could stay as fit as you during pregnancy...I always loose motivation to keep it up during those months where I feel crappy and start growing!
