7 Quick Takes Friday

1) My dear friend Sarah had her first baby this week.  A gorgeous girl, named Adelaide Josephine, weighing in at 9 lbs. 14 oz. and 22.5 inches long.  Can you believe having your first baby that big?  Wowzers!

2) In more baby news...Xander woke up on Wednesday morning with the tell-tale signs of Fifths Disease.

He had been sick from the stomach bug the week before, and now this.  But it only looks bad, he was actually pretty happy (and noncontagious) once the rash showed up.

3) Phil and I can't wait for Jack Bauer Kiefer Sutherland's new show, Touch, to start this month:

and movie to come out:
We were huge 24 fans!

4) Thank you all for your centerpiece ideas.  I have not an artistic bone in my body.  I can create an excel spreadsheet or file your taxes, but I can't do anything crafty.  Glad there are people in the world who can!

5) Do you guys use Groupon?  I have gotten quite a few great deals from them.  Yesterday I bought a Groupon getaway for two nights over February vacation to a hotel with an indoor waterpark in New Jersey.  It is close to Philadelphia, so we will be looking for things to do in the city with the kids.  Any suggestions?

6) Have I mentioned that he's a thumbsucker?  Oh my goodness, how stinkin' cute are thumb suckers?

7)
BIG Patriots play-off game tomorrow night!

It's too bad that they are going to crush the Broncos, because I kinda like Tim Tebow, but I must root for the home team.  Go PATS!

  1. Ha! I said the same thing about the Pats vs. the Broncos. Tim seems like a good kid but we will definitely be pulling for Tom Brady and the Patriots!

I hope Xander's rash goes away. Poor baby - glad he's not in pain!

  2. We really enjoy the "Please Touch" childrens museum in Philly. A friend says the Lego museum was her absolute favorite! And of course you have to eat a cheesesteak :)

It's a good thing Fifth's disease doesn't feel as bad as it looks! Here's to a fast home stretch for that adorable, sweet little Xander!

  3. I'll tell you what to do in Philly -- meet up with us!! The PLease Touch museum is awesome, and so is the Franklin Institute.. I've heard the aquarium in Camden NJ is cool, but we've never been, and it's also Camden (which is a dicey place on the best days).

Baby is a thumbsucker, too! And yes, it is adorable. :)

  4. We always Netflixed the 24's til about the 7th season, when we got kind of tired of the same old stuff, I mean how much torture can Jack Bauer endure? (alot) so we missed the last couple seasons, we'll have to catch up sometime....

didn't know he was starting a new series, I'll have to google it, we like him too. (Kiefer and Jack)

Love Xander's cheeks, poor baby!!! All I know about fifths disease (why do they call it a disease? makes it sound much worse than it is?) anyway, is stay away from pregnant women!! Kind of like Hand Foot Mouth disease, not a disease just a rash and maybe maybe slight fever.

Anyway, also LOVE his thumb sucking, so adorable!!!

  5. Glad you got some ideas...I am not crafty either. I can tell you all about the wonderful art in the 1500's or Monet or Warhol...but a center piece...I am lost.

I agree the thumb in the mouth melted my heart. He is adorable. Those blue eyes...wow!

  7. I have not been to Philly in a while, but there is Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell too.

Thumb suckers are so cute until they are like 5 and you are trying to break the habit . . . it is so hard to get them to stop! My 5 yr old is my only thumb sucker and I have yet to find a good way to break him of the habit.
