WIWS

Because another 5 inches of snow was forecasted for Sat night into Sunday, I took the kids to Mass on Saturday.  Phil was helping my brother move, and the thought of taking 5 kids to Mass alone only slightly panicked me until I called my Mom and verified she and my Dad would be there.  They sat right behind us, John-Paul and Andrew served, and I only spent half of Mass in the cry room with Xander while my parents looked after Maggie and Eamon.  Mission accomplished!

Before Mass, I had Andrew snap a picture of what I wore:
To the left, to the left...everything hangs just a little to the left.
Shirt and sweater vest: from Gap (all really old and I'm proud of myself for not buying new clothes in a long time!)

Black cords: from Kohl's (looks like they only have have purple ones left)

Greasy Face: from being a SAHM for a day, or possibly from all the coconut oil I've been eating?

The snow did come, and Evie the cat loves to watch it:

I did resort to the Wiggles to take a shower.

Phil is at Mass now, and when he gets home we are heading to have brunch with some new friends that we were set up with by my brother.  Is that weird?  Or desperate?  Don't answer that, I'm an introvert who needs encouragement to be more social.
Go see the other ladies over at Fine Linen and Purple for some better fashion inspiration!

  5. Props to you for flying solo with 5 kids! I love the pink and black together. And I'm so jealous of your snow! We've only gotten a few measly dustings so far.

  8. Coconut oil??? Fantastic!!! Are you going to be grinding your own wheat soon? hehe.

And kudos on clothes lasting - that sweater wouldn't last since I would probably get it stuck on a hanger and unthread it. And the pink sweater? looks brand new??? super cute!

  9. You are wise. We didn't check the weather report so we're stuck with walking again this week! Cute outfit, I'm digging the bright pink on you :)

  11. See, this is why we get along so well. We both look smashing in black, have a secret fascination with The Wiggles, especially the Blue one, and are social introverts who must me forced to socialize with anyone over the age of six, unless it is a fellow mother or blogger, of course.

  12. Thank goodness for your parents! Mass alone with my one child sounds daunting!

  13. I see no greasy face...I see a "glowing" face! Love the pop of color with your choice of fuchsia. As for resorting to TV to shower...I say that's why it was invented!!

  16. I was raised in a very strict Irish Catholic family. We wore our best dresses and polished our patent leather shoes with Vaseline before leaving the house. I left the church when I was in my 20's. Big problems with their stance on homosexuality and birth control. My daughter is now 13 and went to Montessori til 6th grade and then I let her choose her own junior high. She chose a Parochial school. She is now an 8th grader and will attend a Parochial girl's high school. So, I ended up back in Mass when my daughter's research paper on a saint was chosen to be read in Mass. I was astounded at the dress. Everyone was in jeans and tee shirts. I had on a dress. No Vaseline shined patent leather shoes this time, but I did wear a dress. And I was WAY over dressed.
