He Said, She Said

Mom, how many pictures are you going to take??
~

When the kids are fighting in the car (one of my biggest pet peeves) they lose time from their show as a punishment.  The other day, Eamon and Maggie started arguing about who-knows-what and Xander turned his little toddler head towards them and yelled:
"Two minutes, guys!"

~
Andrew, trying to squeeze into his seat on the way to donate ALL THOSE CLOTHES.

Me: Andrew, how's your new teacher?
Andrew: She's strict.
Me: How do you know that?
Andrew: She said "You guys are going to find out very quickly how much I do not like all the talking."
Me: She sounds awesome.
Andrew: I knew you would say that.

~

Always lays his head down while he colors.  Always.

At Mass, Xander seems to suffer from voice immodulation:

After picking his nose: A BOOGAH!
(puts in mouth, of course) YUM!

While eating his fruit snacks: I ATE DORA'S HEAD!  I ATE HER FEET!  EATING SWIPER NOW!  WHO DIS GUY?

~

Phil: Maggie, it's rest time, go play a board game.
Maggie: I know why they call them board games.  Because they are boring!

~

Maggie: If we have another girl, who will be the prettiest?
Me: You will both be equally pretty.
Maggie: I think I will be a little bit prettier.  Just a little.

~

Xander put a toy phone up his shirt and said "My baby!"
So the other day, Xander was doing something naughty, and I threatened with my usual...
Me: Do you want to go to time out?
And for the first time, he responded...
Xander: NO! I want to go to Ba's house!
(Ba = Isabel = his nanny = the love of his life who spoils him daily)

  4. "Who will be prettier?" HA!! I love that!

And is Xander a lefty?! Mopsy is a lefty and I love to watch her draw. For some reason it's just cuter than the righties. :)

  6. I'm with Maggie! Board games ARE boring. But I was a good mommy and played two rounds or Trouble with Sarah yesterday. I'm thinking Saint Beth has a pretty nice ring to it! :)

  7. I don't know which one of these is the funniest, although I'm leaning towards "Two minutes, guys!" This blog is such a delight to read every day, but this post was particularly awesome. :)

  8. Joe picks his nose and always calls my name and says, "Mommy, look! A booger!" And shows it to me. He never asks Daddy to see his booger! I must be extra special! I always enjoy these posts! Joe is starting to really have conversations with us, so hopefully soon I can write posts like these!

  10. The head on the arm, coloring, that is the best. And I am having a hard time agreeing with Maggie, how could anyone be cuter?!

  15. As always, you deliver the funny, Martin. Dear Maggie, you will always be my favorite no matter how many Martin girls there are. Shh, don't tell your mom I said that ;)
And WHOA, the clothes. But then, if I actually went through our storage room I'd find some stuff too.

  17. I love how much Xander is talking these days! And Maggie's comment is my favorite too - I can just imagine her whispering in a baby girl's ear, "You're cute, but I'm cuter..."

  18. how did you do that with the pictures? cool.

    all cute stories.

my kids once said the board games are board games because they are boring too.

and sofia will say, '"i'm the prettier one" and claire says 'I'm the cuter one".

  19. I love your he said-she said's!

OH, and that Xander, I could just eat him up!! Love nakid baby on lawn mower!! And when did he start talking so much? He's too little. Way too little. The head laying down part while coloring? Way too cute.

Maggie, the baby will be cute, you will be her pretty older sister. That's how my girls distinguish (is that the right word?) who is what here. (not me, they do it) (I think they are equally pretty in different ways:)
