More Winter? Snow Thanks!

Seriously?  As if we needed more snow on top of the piles and piles we have?  And it's still accumulating!

This is our 5th day off of school this year, and when only three snow days are built into the schedule, we will have to make up two days in sunny, beautiful June.  Boo.

The other day I was thinking that God must look down on those of us that live in snowy areas like "I made you gorgeous, tropical, sunny places in this world, and you choose to set up roots here?!?!?!  I will never understand how and when you humans exercise your free will!"

At least the kids love it...

I cleaned the inside while they cleaned the outside, and gave them all haircuts when they came in. Then Phil made some homemade potato chips while I baked and frosted some cupcakes.  Winter makes us fat!  I guess we need the extra layer of blubber to stay warm :)  Cheers everyone!

P.S.  Please don't forget about The Coakley family, they still need our help!

  2. At least you guys are getting a lot done on your days off! Dan wants to retire to the Cape and typically this Southern girl is agreeable. (I'd follow him anywhere!) However, when I see pictures like this, I have second thoughts!

  3. And again we are just south of the storm. So tired of gray skies and freezing rain.
Sounds like you are all riding out the storm in good spirits!!

  5. It looked like they're having so much fun!

There have been so many snow days and late starts here for snow and ice. This winter in Michigan has been so much milder than last winter, but it almost feels like we've had more days off (probably because last years bad storms were over the Christmas break!).

  6. This is so crazy! I'm in snowy, frigid MN and have maybe 4 inches of snow on the ground. We're having a winter carnival on Saturday that includes outdoor games in the snow that hardly exists. Seriously, something is wrong with this picture!!
You do sound like you are being quite productive. I agree though, I always blame winter weight on the need to stay warm and that I do more baking when I stay indoors. I always account for the 3-5 lb (at least!) winter weight gain while we're in hibernation.

ps...frosting on those cupcakes looks yummy. Recipe?

  7. The kids look like they're having fun, even if you are dreading the longer than average school year. :)

And the cupcakes? Yes, please! Those look so good.
