Linking up with Cari and Clan for Theme Thursday: Animals
Last weekend, we pulled into our driveway to see a baby bunny in our lawn. Can you see him?
The kids wanted to get a closer look...
And off he hopped!
And so did they!
We do have a pet of our very own since Christmas. She's a cute and cuddly kitten named Evie, and sitting on our screened in porch is her favorite activity besides sleeping. My little sister says I was meant to be a cat with all the sleeping they do.
Phil said "I wonder if she actually enjoys being on the porch or it's like purgatory for her?"
She does try to run out the door any chance she gets, but I'm betting hoping that's more out of curiosity than a reaction to our family. And you know what they say about curiosity and cats...
...it's pretty cute.
Ha. Rabbits are the gateway animal, yo. Today it's cute little wild bunnies on your driveway, tomorrow it's bobcats and bear. Mark my words. Next year you'll be posting pictures of the gazelle stampede down the street.
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures of your cat on the porch! (it's a porch thing) I love the excitement of kids and animals...it's so fun!
ReplyDeleteThat's funny...cause it kinda looks like your cat is chillin on top of you kitchen cupboards. And I am not quite sure how that would happen...
ReplyDeleteI just love calico cats. Yours is beautiful. Did she jump up on those cabinets by herself? I used to have a cat that jumped from the dining room table to the top of the china cabinet with about as much space to the ceiling. It was quite a feat.
ReplyDeleteYour kitten is so cute. I love calico cats!!
ReplyDeleteLOL - I have some similar photos of my daughter wanting to get closer to a bunny. So cute!! :-)
ReplyDeleteEvie is so pretty. She seems like a really good cat too. I'm glad your kids are enjoying thier first pet. =)
ReplyDeleteCute bunny chasing shots, Lisbeth is finally understanding if she goes quietly she gets much closer to the bunny/bird she is trying to see.
ReplyDeleteEvie is such an elegant model.
Evie is a doll! But if she gets out....the bunny won't be very happy about that. :)
ReplyDeleteall cats love to escape and run wild. But, I am glad you keep yours in. So many of our neighbors let their cats roam free--on our property to do their business. I had a cat growing up and she loved to sun herself on the porch all day.
ReplyDeleteWhen I lived in town, I did buy a harness and leash for my kitty!
ReplyDeleteEvie is cute up there on the cupboard.
Sweet bunny! I am prejudiced against cats because they make itch and sneeze and my eyes water... But Evie is still pretty cute.
ReplyDeleteAgreed, Evie is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE calico cats! We had one growing up and I do believe she was mentally insane. I can tell you I have had more people tell me that calicos are a special kind of crazy. Yours is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteShe is so pretty. Sadly our cat escaped and never came back, probably thanks to the coyotes. This Sat. we are picking up our new puppy, but I see another cat in our future.
ReplyDeleteLove the bunny photos. We have a few stray rabbits in our yard and the kids are fascinated buy them while I yell, "Don't get too close! They have germs!" I'm not much of a country girl. ;-)
ReplyDeleteEvie on the cabinets is my favorite. Cats make me laugh with their antics!
ReplyDeleteYour cat is so pretty! My best friend has cats that do the same thing. They're kind of startling if you aren't expecting them to be up there just chillin'.
