Playing with Cari for Theme Thursday: Water
As Mary pointed out in yesterday's comments, I am very thankful for how close we live to the beach. Although I don't actually go swimming in the ocean for fear of sharks and crabs and jellyfish, my kids love it and it's a fun, free family event. Winning!
When we don't feel like braving the sand and jellyfish, we head to a splash park or pool to cool off without getting too dirty. How blessed are we?
I truly do appreciate God's gift of nature. I don't want to sleep in it or swim in it...
...but it sure is pretty to look at!
Look at that little pink "baby" girl. How adorable!
ReplyDeleteLast pic. is great and it is time to update that pretty family photo. The sun is just perfect..on the rocks and the family.
I would love to live by the ocean. My hubby has a major shark phobia also!
I love living close to the beach, too. We are going there today. The last picture of your family is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteforgot to say something about that comedian. Saw his latest video and laughed so hard. This guy is so funny!
ReplyDeleteThe beach practically in your backyard? Winning, indeed! : )
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! (And great use of Jim Gaffigan quotes! Our gang absolutely loves that guy. And we all agree about the camping--none of us are "happy campers".)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the one of the three boys running out of the water. Great job capturing the moment. I also do not swim much, but I do go in. I am not so much afraid of scary stuff as I am of feeling like a wet dog.
ReplyDeleteI'm cracking up at the picture of the splash park- WITH THE OCEAN CLEARLY VISIBLE BEHIND IT!
ReplyDeleteFun fun fun!! Your photos capture the fun it is to be a kid in water. We live near the beach, and do go to play (free fun - win!), but our beaches are not like that. They are rocks, and COLD ocean water, and we're usually in pants, rain boots, and windbreakers. So, not much swimming. :-)
ReplyDeletecamping is wonderful! Especially near water!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures ~ start to finish!
ReplyDeleteJEALOUS! I love the ocean. We go every summer! I didn't realize you guys have jellyfish too...I mean, they're ocean dwellers, but I just assumed they preferred warmer waters. I've been stung more times than I care to count out in the Gulf! Lovely, lovely, family pic! Hugs
ReplyDeleteOh, that family pic is beautiful!! Yes, you are so blessed to be so near the ocean! This makes me want a vacation even more :)
ReplyDeleteJim Gaffigan makes me laaaaaaaugh! Love those quotes.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the third one down. The frozen moment of escaping the waves, their faces, the water. Just awesome.
When we were in FL, I loved going in the water, only because it was too darn hot to NOT be in the water during summertime. Up north..not so much...I usually avoid the water. I'm more squicked out by seaweed than I am by jellyfish and sharks.
ReplyDeleteI agree! I love the ocean and lakes but I want to sit near them and admire their beauty but typically I don't want to be in them.
ReplyDeleteLove that family portrait!
I miss living near the beach. That was one of the really nice things about the Navy was they usually stationed you somewhere near the water. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd Jim Gaffigan! love him :)
That second Jim Gaffigan quote! I love it.
ReplyDeleteThat's how I felt when we went on family camping trips as a kid. Although now my husband loves camping, so I may have to learn to love it.
dying over that pink ruffle swimsuit! someday hopefully we can both pull down the oodles of pink and purple girly clothes from the attic :).
ReplyDeleteGreat pics! Your kiddos are so cute!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love!! :-)
ReplyDeleteLove that last picture :)
