When we went to his college orientation, they announced some fun facts about the Freshman class, and one was that there were nine freshman born on the same day - September 26th! Eamon is in good company. We mailed him out a package with some homemade pumpkin chocolate chip bread, cookies, candy and a nice half-zip for the fall. We also got him (and Andrew whose bday is next week) NFL Sunday Tickets to watch the games this season. Eamon is loving college, making friends, playing sports and his only gripe is that there is too much homework in his Bio major. He sent me a photo of his lunch yesterday, with nary a fruit nor vegetable to be seen. Must be nice to have a college guy's metabolism:

His cousin ate a similar meal with him |
Andrew's bestie "Smiles" got engaged!! Smiles and Colette met while studying in Austria together, she's a year older than he is, and they got engaged on campus at the Port...so they are basically Phil and Colleen 2.0. We got to meet up with them when we brought Eamon out to college and they are such a beautiful couple, inside and out. Andrew was there to congratulate Smiles right after the big moment, so cute:
Andrew sent me a picture of his accounting homework this week with the caption "Just a fellow accountant". He knows how to get on my good side ;)
He also went to a Pittsburgh Pirates game after going to a High Latin Mass in Pittsburgh with his friends (who even is this kid?) and sent a picture of their mascot Sauerkraut Saul:
Maggie had a volleyball game this week that was so exciting. They played a team at home and lost the first two games, then barely won the third, then the fourth and somehow won the fifth by 2 points! The team never gave up and it was a lot of fun (and stress) to watch. Mags had lots of great hits and saves and I will miss watching her play volleyball so much after this season. Phil and I busted out laughing when we saw each other at the game, having changed out of our work clothes separately before taking various kids everywhere and then meeting up for the game:

We're twinning and she's winning |
Maggie and I went Homecoming dress shopping this weekend and my eyeballs are still scandalized by the dress choices. I ordered her a few online that we are waiting on to come in and I definitely won't miss dressing a daughter for Homecoming after this year.
On the first day of fall, Declan and Brendan went out to catch the falling leaves. I seriously love having littles so much, as they remind me of the simple joys in life:
And tell me every.single.detail of their days and leave me random gifts on the fridge:
JP just completed Block One of med school and was very happy to tell us he got straight A's! He certainly worked very hard to earn every single one. He now has a week off and will be flying home on Sunday night, I'm so excited!!
Also the Ice Cream Cottage will be closing after this weekend which is going to feel sooooo nice for all of us, but especially for Phil who has been working nonstop. I will miss my ice creams in bed, but my waist line will appreciate it.

Grapenut and Pistachio in a waffle cone like the old lady I am. |
The plumber came and fixed our upstairs bathroom so that we can use it again. But the damages caused by the leak were reviewed by our insurance company and estimated to cost about $15,000. So now we have to start fixing the door, walls and ceilings that got wet in both our condo and my parent's condo downstairs. Maybe I could get my trims and baseboards painted while they are at it?? A girl can hope!
Tonight we are headed to Boston for a Pro-Life fundraiser where Kayleigh McEnany will be the keynote speaker. I gotta go find a dress that fits...wish me luck. Have a great weekend everyone!
