Happy Friday! Happy Juneteenth!
My friend suggested we try an outdoor Sunday morning workout in town, a slightly scaled down version of Hyrox training, where you complete a station and then run a lap around a track and repeat 8 times. So you end up running 2 miles and completing 8 one-minute exercises. It would have been great except for the leader who tried to mansplain and overly demonstrate the exercises to us (we may be slightly chubby but we work out) and also had the audacity to try and cut our time short because people were waiting. Dude! If the workout is to row for a minute, you can not tell me to only row for 30 seconds because you let too many people into the class because you wanted more money. That's a you problem, and I want to finish a complete workout. Got it?
Anyway, I stole these pics off social media...

I met up with Phil and Lucy Doodle for a nice walk after the class. I think Phil would like the class (minus the leader) once he fully heals from his plantar fasciitis. I did buy him these insoles to help, so fingers crossed.
On Saturday morning, Phil and I were walking the dog and passed by this same track and we saw people setting up for the Youth Mile. We went home and asked Declan and Brendan if they wanted to run in it (we typically always sign up and it's a week before the town's 5k that they run in, so it's good practice). They hemmed and hawed until I said they could get whatever they wanted at the Cottage later if the did the race, and then they quickly got dressed and we headed over. Brendan came in 4th and Declan came in 2nd in their age groups! They got a medal, chocolate lollipop, tshirt, powerade, chips, and a banana and were very happy with themselves!

Andrew's girlfriend, Karolina, left on Monday and they had a great week together. I think the day in Martha's Vineyard was the highlight, as well as all the yummy seafood Karolina got to order. She even got meat-eater Andrew to try sushi, lobster and crab. This girl is magical! She even told us the coolest thing: her mom, who grew up near Miami, dated Enrique Iglesias! Amazing! Suffice to say, we all liked her a lot and can see why they are in loooove. As one of our friends who met her said, "She's just too perfect. Too likeable. Too amazing"
Xander, Declan and Brendan finished grades 9, 7, and 4 grades this week!
Brendan got picked up by Maggie and treated to a chick-fil-a lunch:
Declan's friend had a pool party on the last (half) day, which he attended:

After work, I went to the gym and Phil went to the Cottage after his school day ended. Around 5:30 we both had the same realization - we forgot to pick up Declan!!! The party invitation said 11:45 to 4! Phil raced over and people were still there swimming and eating so it wasn't totally horrible, though we felt bad. Are you even a part of a big family if you don't get forgotten somewhere?!?
I'm pretty sure Xander had to go to work after his freshman finals were over. Sorry dude! Young-adulting is rough!
Their first official day of summer was spent at the dentist, the library, and then reading on their nighthawks like the loveable weirdo they are:
We've also been working our way through the Toy Story movies to prepare for Toy Story 5 coming out:

This is an ugly picture, but the meal of the week (for me) was salmon, a baked potato and green beans sauteed with garlic and walnuts/almonds:
I think everyone else ate steak because nobody likes seafood. Where is Karolina when I need her??
I have made it a goal this summer to drink a tablespoon of MaryRuth's Hair Growth Max Liposomal in my morning coffee to see if it helps my thin hair. It's been falling out even more than usual lately, and I think it's because of the stress of the last month, so I'm hoping it slows down. I still take Nutrafol but I will keep you posted if this liquid is gold or not.
Have a great weekend everybody, and Happy Father's Day! May I suggest celebrating the dads in your life with some ice cream? That reminds me, our Chronicle tv episode will air on Thursday, June 25 at 7:30pm if you're in New England or should be posted to their YouTube shortly after as well. Prayers that we don't look like complete idiots :)
