Happy Friday Monday - darn this holiday weekend really got away from me!
But let's rewind to last week, when Andrew's friends - Smiles, his soon to be wife Colette, and Mahoney came to stay for the weekend. My brother was gracious enough to take them out on his boat to swim at a little island which, according to my little boys, had thousands of tiny crabs. They thought it was really cool. I made them wear their long-sleeved swim shirts and they did not get burned, unlike some of the bigger boys who went shirtless and sunscreen-less. Ouch!
They also made a few trips to the Cottage of course, watched the World Cup, went down to the Fort/ocean, had a Casino night and were very fun company to have around!
We watched The Sheep Detectives with Declan and Brendan, and they were really into it, trying to solve the mystery. It was good! The next day we went to a pool and saw a cloud in the sky that looked like a sheep, and if you've watched the movie, you will get the reference :)
We had a heat wave for a few days, so we have had to wake up early to walk Lucy while it's cool enough. Always thankful for an ocean breeze up here!
Our friend celebrated his 25th anniversary of becoming a priest and his family hosted a fancy dinner at TPC Boston. Earlier in the day, Eamon got to join him for a round of golf at the famous club. We were seated with a couple from NY whose have their 4th child attending Franciscan in the fall (with Maggie) and we figured out that their son, who is currently a student there, went on the same mission trip as Andrew. What a small world!
I wish we had someone take our picture because I really like my "business casual outfit" of this top and skirt. You'll just have to imagine - heehee.
Declan and Brendan started a summer golf clinic and LOVED it. I think it's great that my kids love sports even if they don't end up being very good at them. That is not my personality at all!
Our watermelon Dole Whip was very popular this week:
The National Eucharistic Procession made it's way to a city near us, and Phil and I attended the evening Mass. It was so beautiful to watch the procession enter the church and see/hear the whole church filled with people singing. Heaven's going to be awesome!
Our church held it's annual Altar Boy Boot Camp (ABBC) for the altar servers. They had a day of training and then a field trip day that included a tour of St Pius V Church in Providence and the Dominican Chapel at Providence College, followed by a visit to an Escape Room and then ice cream from The Cottage :)
We had a nice long July 4th weekend, but that's photos for another post!
