Happy Friday! The best day of the week, loaded with potential and good intentions.
On Monday, I realized that my Town Hall was open late for early voting, so Phil and I went and did just that. There were NINE questions on the ballot which makes it really hard to memorize your answers, so I brought a cheat sheet with me. I know we are outnumbered here in MA but I have to at least do my civic duty and clear my conscience when/if our evil governor wins again, God forbid.

After voting, I went and got a flu shot and felt very adult-ish indeed.
In New England, fall is peaking, and we are leaf peeping:

Made even better when Brendan gave me this special rock he found "just for me":
Maggie went to a corn maze with friends:
Andrew finished up the regular soccer season this week, with playoffs starting tomorrow, and went on a little hike with his girlfriend:
Noteworthy meals this week included going out for Chinese on a half day of school:
| Will I? |
A yummy dinner, made by Phil, of Swedish meatballs on egg noodles:
Xander went down to the basement to put some food in our extra freezer and came back to report that there was lots of water down there:
Ugh. I guess our furnace had something break and water was rushing out. We had the plumber come out and he said it was worth fixing even though it's 30 years old and estimated the cost to be $1000. Much better than replacing the whole furnace!
Then JP texted that somebody had hit his car while he was parked at school:
But! She did the right thing and left a note with her information. JP has been in contact with the woman, and she is going to pay for the new mirror, estimated to be around $400. I hope her honesty is rewarded in the future if someone ever damages her property :)
I saw this and thought YUP. Especially the last point.
I am the 5th child and 3rd girl, but I associate as the eldest daughter because there are six years between myself and my next oldest sister, and I lived a completely separate life than my older siblings did. We moved when I was six, so I went to all different schools than they did from 1st grade through college, and became the eldest daughter in the house at age 12 when my older sister went off to college. Every time I see something about being the eldest daughter, is describes me to a tee, as much as I would rather it did not.
Speaking of daughters...
Guess who came home late Wednesday night and surprised everyone for Fall Break?
(Well Phil and I knew)
The one and only Maggie in the Middle.

Have a wonderful weekend everybody. Happy Halloween and a Blessed All Saints Day!
