The Tire Park

While we were down in Maryland, we went to a Tire Park. The "floor" is covered with pieces of recycled tires, and a lot of the play structures are made with tires as well.

What a great idea to reuse tires in this way!

Nana pushes our resident superstar in the swing.
Eamon hops right on the zip line thingie, and loves it!
John-Paul goes for a ride, and invites mom & dad to do the same.

Phil takes a try and stays on...

...and I completely fall off.

Good thing Andrew made the minimum age requirement!

King of the Hill

My knights protecting the castle.

Eamon getting his sugar-fix. Phil and I say he suffers from LBS (Low Blood Sugar) and needs to be fed every couple hours, or watch out!

Maggie hamming it up.

There was a nature trail that we "hiked".

And a small turtle pond and bird sanctuary at the end.
It was a cool place, and if anyone is in the Frederick, MD area, you should check it out!

Traveling Quips & Quotes

We just returned from our trip to Maryland to visit with Phil's family, and spending so much time with the kids in the car (8 hours each way) made for some interesting conversations.

Of course there were the typical:

"How much loooooonger???"
~

"I'm hungry/thirsty/bored/sick"
~
"Where are we going?" (Same place we were going to the last ten times you asked.)

~
Any Boy Sitting Next to Maggie: Maggie's touching me!
Maggie: No I not! (As she reaches out to touch him).

And the more entertaining:

John-Paul: Dad, when you die...can I have your IPod?

~

Phil: Maggie, what's in your mouth?

Maggie: A boogie.

~

Me: We're going to The Waffle House for breakfast.

Eamon: Do they have waffles there?

~

Maggie: I have to go pee REALLY bad! (Said about every 5 minutes - why did I want to potty train her before this trip?)

All in all, it really wasn't too bad of a car trip in either direction. Just a lot more potty breaks than usual :)

Mel's Demons

I thought this was a great article about Mel Gibson's shenanigans recently.
~
It reminds me of the saying, "There but for the grace of God go I."
~
Because there is a devil.
~
He does know our weaknesses.
~
And he will tempt us.
~
We must pray for the strength to persevere in our faith.
Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host
-by the Divine Power of God -
cast into hell, Satan and all the evil spirits,
who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.

There IS a God!

I'm not sure if it was the trip to the store to get Dora Pull-Ups, or the chart I made with numbers 1-10
(she gets to cross off a number each time she goes potty, and then she gets a Princess Doll),
but something is finally sinking in, and Maggie is frequently peeing on the potty!!
Yesterday she went 5 times, and kept her pull-up dry all day
(except for #2 - we'll struggle with that one later!)
Go Maggie!

And thanks be to God for answering my silly prayers!!
