Beautiful Days, Ugly Weighs

After an incredibly hot week, the weather this weekend was perfect!  We met up with some friends and played on the beach:

Beach baby, emphasis on baby:

Looking for flat shells/rocks for skipping:

Making sandcastles:

Enjoying wet toesies:

After eating brownies and onion rings and mozzarella sticks and fried clams and ice cream all weekend, we woke up at 5:15 this morning to do P90x.  And then I made eggs and veggies for breakfast, and packed a healthy lunch to take to work.

Hopefully this week will be better in the eating right and losing weight department.  It's a battle my body and mind never seem to want to win together.  My mind says eat healthy, work out, fit into your summer clothes....and my body says eat fried food, lay on the couch, and enjoy yourself!

Today ends the first week of the Lose a Half-Marathon challenge (see sidebar) and I actually gained a pound!  I shouldn't be surprised with the way I've been eating.  But I have been working out bunches (as usual). It's like we are stuck on vacation mode because it's summer and Phil and the kids are home all day.

All I can do is try to be better!!

    1. Nope, not scary at all! I will be back at what I weighed before getting pregnant with Alexander. Size 6 that fit comfortably - not too skinny :)

  2. Mmm...onion rings and mozzarella sticks...it's unfortunate that they lead to weight gain :( Why do the yummy things do that?!

  3. I can so relate. I want to eat better too but then there's that little voice that says, "you only live once...enjoy yourself." It's a constant battle. Good luck!

    1. You know it! Most nights I rationalize that I am not a young chicken anymore, I have 5 kids, and I'm pretty fit, so I can go ahead and eat what I want.....

  5. Oh that sweet baby! My baby . . . is now considered a toddler. Who decided that?? I'm still calling her a baby. I'm a rebel like that.

Looks like a fabulous week. The other morning, Jeremy brought home a huge box full of pastries. He, of course, can eat just one, and then be done. I ate those darn things all day long. Until I finally told the girls to eat the remainder, or I was throwing them away. Then, I vowed to do better . . . we went up to my in-laws . . . and they proceeded to make us Root Beer Floats. Sigh.

  6. I love the family photo! I just posted this morning that I weighed in and luckily lost a pound but the only thing that saved me from gaining is getting off the computer and walking more. This is still all new to me. LOL. And in your case, you already look fabulous and you still have 12 weeks to catch up. :-)
