And the Baby Is...

ME!

Because I'm still pregnant - waaaaahhhh!

A lady in waiting...and waiting...and waiting.
Thank you all for your kind support, prayers and well wishes.  This is the most stubborn of all my children, which is scary because I already have some pretty stubborn ones :)

John-Paul was born 1 month and 1 day early.
Andrew was born 5 days early.
Eamon was born 10 days early.
Maggie was born 5 days early.
Alexander was born 5 days early.

And Baby Martini is 4 days late, which according to my track record feels about 647 days late.  Everything is still looking good and healthy...low blood pressure, no swelling, heart beat is perfect, so I can't complain too much.  I am a really lucky pregnant woman times 6.

I would love to pray for your intentions during this upcoming labor.  Even though I know I probably won't be in the right frame of mind to pray for everyone individually, I thought I could make a list and have Phil read it to me, or just tell God to refer to the list as I offer up any pain.  So tell me what your special intentions are, detailed or not, God knows!

  1. Ahh! You almost killed me with that subject line!! You look gorgeous though and I am so impressed with your patience, I would be dying. I will continue to pray for you, Colleen!

  2. My third was 7 days late and I had to be induced. Induction was really not as bad as I imagined! (hopefully you won't have to go that route) Prayers!!!!

  3. By my calculations looking at your list, this baby should be 5 days late. She or he didn't get the 5 days BEFORE the due date memo and thought it was 5 days AFTER your due date. Tomorrow it is! I HOPE.

As for intentions, as my word this year is TRUST it's a big reach for me with a few things I'd love to just have answers for. But I shall TRUST, because He asked me to. So, prayers to trust and surrender in all of that.
Rest assured of my prayers and love I'll keep on sending until I receive word that baby is here and healthy. Well, I'll continue them after that, but they'll be more intense in the coming days. Blessings and peace to you mama. C'mon baby!!!

  6. Oh nooooo....I assumed that since my babies are coming earlier and earlier the trend HAD to continue :) Our prayers are with you!!!

  7. Oh I really really thought....I'm just so excited for you! I think these sixth babies want to revel in the peace and quiet for a little longer. :)

  8. looking good for being a 4 day late pregnant lady!!!! ;-)
I'll be selfish and throw in my intention: that God may heal my father of his addiction.

Hope all goes well with labor & delivery! God Bless!!!

  9. I can imagine that going late after always going early probably feels cuh-RAZY! In other news, though...your photo looks gorgeous and you look glowing (in a good way) and that shirt is DEFINITELY your color.

  10. No fair not posting for an ENTIRE week without having baby news!!!

We will pray for your labor and birth and that baby Martini decides to evacuate soon!

And, I'm all about having people pray for me....so you're more than welcome to pray for our family's intention. My husband is looking for a lawyer job and we are looking to move (again!) out to IN to be near by family and he is looking to take hte IN bar exam this summer. So...yeah..lots of things.

  12. Ah! Colleen! I've been so worried about you, especially yesterday with the snow you got down there! Oh man, this kid is putting you through the ringer, huh? Hopefully the worst of it will be the waiting and he/she will come fast and furious (but safely) and pain-free.

  13. Thanks for the update. I may or may not have been stalking your blog for the last week.
And thanks for being so thoughtful about our prayer intentions. Please pray for Hailey . . . a baby girl waiting to come home to her adoptive family.

  17. Praying, praying, praying for you! Why don't these kids get the message?! Even harder for you since you are so accustomed to not going past your due date.
6 out of 7 were late for me, with the Latecomer Award going to #2 at 2 full weeks. Stinker. I know that little piece of info doesn't help in any way except to say that I sympathize.
Maybe it's something about these late March babies . . . Bess' birthday is March 31st. A week late and the most stubborn of all my children (which is really saying something!)

Since you are taking intentions, please just write down "Aimee's Stuff." A lot to go into and God knows the deal anyway. Thanks, mama. :)

PS: You look gorgeous. Seriously beautiful, I mean it.

  19. Praying for you! I was sure you had the baby.

Can you pray for my health, please? Thanks!

  20. For my post graduation plans, wherever He wants me to be living and working what job He wants to me to be working. Offering up labor for intentions is I think one of the most insanely powerful things a woman can do!

  21. hi Colleen. I am a first time commenter but a long time reader. I admire your blog so much and I enjoy reading along. if you could offer up any pain and suffering for my cousin Sylvia who is in the last hours / days of life. she is dying of pancreatic cancer. Please pray God will have mercy on her and our lady will be with her. thank you so much and thank you for your faithful witness to our wonderful faith!

  22. Ack! Heart Attack City! Prayers for you, lady. The thing that fiiiiiiiinally got Lazy Zeke out were the exercises over at spinningbabies.com. What a Lent you've had!

I would love for you to pray for a special intention of mine.

  23. I feel your pain! I met you briefly when we were pregnant with our #5s at the Faith & Family mom's day out. My 5th was 5 days early, and my 6th was 5 days late! Every day feels like an eternity when you're sure you're going to go early then you don't. I will keep you in my prayers that labor and delivery go smoothly. Remember the prize at the end! If you need a prayer intention, you can keep my 9-year old Clare in your prayers. She is having a life-saving surgery in a few weeks (renal bypass graft and renal autotransplantation) and we are doing all we can to keep her home and safe until her surgery date so the surgeons can plan and create her new vessels. Prayers for you!

  24. Oh good trick with the title of this post :) hoping and praying baby comes soon!! Maybe he/she just wants to be able to have the possibility of a non-lent birthday some years? (I think march 27 is the earliest Easter can be so I'll guess you'll be in labor tomorrow)

    ReplyDelete
  25. Please pray for a 15 year old scheduled for an abortion tomorrow

    ReplyDelete
  26. Bless your heart! We're still praying and cannot wait to hear the news!

  27. Oh! What can I have Phil read out loud that would embarrass him and make you laugh, even during transition? I don't know. Let me think on it.
Until then, have Phil add "for the holy souls in Purgatory" if you don't already have it on the list.

  28. Praying that the baby won't take much longer to be born! Please pray for my job situation. Thank you!

  29. You totally had me for a hot second with that title! I hope that you have a quick and easy labor really soon (like today! ha!). If you could pray for my uncle with ALS and my cousin who was just diagnosed with an aggressive breast cancer, I'd appreciate it. Oh! I just remembered - maybe you've tried this already, but Jenny Uebbing swears by pedicures to induce labor. If it doesn't work, at least you'll have pretty toes. :)

  30. I was wondering! I hope and pray that you have a good labour/delivery and that it happens rightnow. Liiiiiike now. I'm sure that you feel like a beached whale, but you certainly don't look like one! You look beautiful!

We always appreciate prayers! Please pray for my husband, our children and both of our immediate families.

  31. I was so excited to see you had a post up in my feed reader. But so sorry it's not the baby announcement! Hang in there! Praying for a smooth and safe delivery.

    Please pray for Rebecca.

  32. Ahh come on little Martin!! Praying for you two and a safe delivery! I can't wait for the announcement :)

If you could keep my mom-mom, Sue, in your prayers. She's going through a very difficult time physically, spiritually and emotionally.

  33. You look beautiful and thank you for the update!! Been thinking about and praying for you! Would you please pray for my sister and her husband, Greg and Caitlin? They're going through some major marital stuff right now. And my sister-in-law Lisa and her husband Scott...for their conversion. You're the best and you're going to rock this birth!!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Praying for you! Please include my brother and sister-in-law in your intentions. He's a Marine in Iraq right now, and they are hoping to adopt or otherwise procure a baby.

  35. Praying for a safe healthy delivery for you...and soon. Could you please pray for my 40 year old brother, Rob, who was diagnosed last week with stage 4 melanoma. Thank you!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I have been praying so much for you! Hang in there!

    ReplyDelete
  37. OH, I've been thinking (praying) for you all stinking week!! Continued prayers, baby come out!! (have you seen that book?) It's funny.

OK, my intention: That Tom finds a job....in Phoenix or San Antonio...we are moving....

  38. Oh, Colleen! This is so hard. All my 5 kids have come early, so I can imagine that this must be frustrating. Praying for you and your baby! You're gonna do great! I'll follow Aimee and just ask that you pray for "Lauren's stuff." God knows. God bless you.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Well, I do hope & pray by now that you're holding your baby in your arms, rather than in your belly by now. But, just in case, could you please pray for my husband's employment. Thank you and God bless you and yours!

  40. Boo! I was hoping that no posting meant you were busy with the new baby! Praying for a quick and easy delivery - SOON! If you can pray for a health issue for me, and a good outcome for a surgical procedure for that health issue in two weeks, I would be grateful.

  41. Laura has been keeping me in the loop! Please pray for my mom who has Parkinson's, for healing and a conversion as she is agnostic. Thanks!
