Tuesday Tidbits - Bye Covid, Hello Exodus 90 and Magnify 90

We only had one more positive case of Covid (Alexander) and the rest of the clan is staying negative which is weird.  Could they be naturally immune?  Whatever the case, I'm very glad that the plague has passed over our house and didn't stay too long.

This article about a pub in Donegal, Ireland (where my Dad's from) made me smile.  We're just all so sick of it, aren't we?

I don't normally listen to Jordan Peterson (I leave that to my husband) but this was good.  Living in Canada right now might actually stink more than living in America, eh?

How about some non-Covid tidbits?

Maggie has been working hard on her science fair project.  She is testing the effects of baking powder, which combines her love of baking and eating cupcakes :)

Declan (7) and Brendan (5) looked so cute doing a workout video with me that I had to snap a photo:

Phil started Exodus 90 and I started Magnify 90 yesterday.  Phil was asked to be part of a team in our Diocese that is looking to grow men's groups and they decided to go through Exodus 90 together to start that process.  I signed up for Magnify 90 last minute because I am nothing if not competitive ;) and misery loves company.  Luckily I was able to get the book and form a virtual group with three other lovely ladies, two whom I met at Catholic Familyland and one who is friends with them.  These 90 days of spiritual and physical exercises will lead right up until Easter and I already want to go to there - ha!

Since sweets and tv are not allowed on the programs, we made sure to eat creme brulee on the last night (who needs a kitchen torch when you can use a real manly one):

And hit up our beautiful library for some reading material:

I also decided to use my time at night (when I normally would watch tv) to clean/organize/declutter our home.  I started with my bedroom and just looking at this earring organizer makes me deliriously happy.

Maybe the program won't be so bad after all!

  1. I love decluttering! It's like an endorphine rush from exercising to me. Also you have alot of earrings! Maybe i should try to wear some of mine again.

  3. I love it when things are all decluttered, but somehow the mess finds its way back! Your organized earrings look like an art installation. Cool beans

  4. Your library IS beautiful. Wow. As is your earring organizer. I do not have pierced ears. I know, weird fun fact. It took me 4 years just to get contacts. I gross out easily.

Good luck with you Magnify 90 program. I love the photos of the kids working out with you. All I ever get is heckled.

I laughed at the Donegal bar's banning of covid conversation. I can't remember where my brother and his wife were married, but it was in Donegal. She is from Derry. Now I have to find out the name of the little church they were married in and the name of the venue. There was a moored boat in the background - sounds weird, but it was very pretty. She has so many relatives, they chose a place not to get married in her town so that everyone wouldn't come. :)

    1. My Dad's from Letterkenny, it would be so cool if that's where they were married! Do you wear clip on earrings or go naked :)

    2. Hmm - I don't think it was Letterkenny, but I feel like I've either been there or one of my friends the year I studied in Ireland was from there. Dang - I saw my mom today briefly and I didn't think to ask. She sat on the couch while babies were sleeping so I could get to the doctor and Ed, who was my initial substitute, could get his PCR test in enough time to board the plane for Budapest.

I go naked. I don't really accessorize much on the parts that don't require additional holes . . . like bracelets or necklaces or rings. I bought some jewelry a few years ago and I tried for a while, but I'm just a plain Jane type, I guess.

Is your Magnify 90 an online thing or in person?

    3. It's a 90 day program with a book - but you're encouraged to do it with a group for support :)
