Gratituesday: August 11th

Today I am thankful for this website, which I just found out about through my MOMS Club.
It's a pre-printed grocery list, so you can just hang it on the fridge and check off which items you need during the week.
I love it because it reminds to buy those easy-to-forget items like baking soda, aluminum foil, or coffee filters.
Ahhhh, it's the little things in life ;)
What are you thankful for this week?
****UPDATE**** One of the items on the list is condoms - now I'm not so fond of this grocery list anymore :(

Hi Lo: August 7th

HI's:

1) We got a new addition to our family, but I will post about that on Monday ;)

2) I was finally able to run after about a week of only walking. It felt awesome!

3) Some beautiful weather arrived yesterday and should remain through the weekend.

4) We just received the Purchase & Sales Agreement for buying the house and are currently reviewing it.
Things are finally moving forward!

LO's:

1) John-Paul got a stomach bug on Tues and Wed.
He threw up about 4 times the first day and ate nothing all day until 8pm when he tried some soup. Then he woke up on the second day and threw up twice before he started getting better. Poor little guy, he is so pathetically skinny already :(

2) My knee is taking forever to heal. If I bandage it, then all the pus builds up but if I leave it unbandaged to start to dry up, it tightens up and I can't bend my knee. I'm trying to find a balance to help the healing process.
Here's a disgusting picture of my knee, 4 days after I fell:

3) I went to the dentist for a cleaning and have 5 cavities!! 4 of them were already discovered, and they were watching them for a while. The other one just popped up. I have the worst teeth...

4) Eamon continues to poop in his pull-up and underwear. We are trying the naked approach, and hope that will work.

5) I am studying for the Auditing section of the CPA Exam, and it's difficult, boring, and draining. I have a new appreciation for all CPA's who have passed this hellish exam ;)

Sorry that was a negative week - I usually try to look at the brighter side of life.

What were your highs and lows this week?

Calling all moms...

I need help, advice, consolation, empathy, and a glass of wine ;)
Eamon will not fully potty train!! He can handle peeing in the potty, as long as we remind him. But after pooping in the potty three times, he refuses to do it anymore.
I have potty trained two boys already, and they were both scared to poop in the potty, but after they finally did it once, they continued doing it. Eamon will just sneak away and poop. It doesn't matter what he's wearing either - he has no problem pooping in a pull up or underwear. It's disgusting!
We have tried the candy reward approach, a pooping chart with the promise of a present at the end, taken away minutes from his nightly tv show when he poops in his underwear, but nothing seems to work!
Please, can anybody help me?? This guy needs to be trained within a month so he can go to preschool while I work. Any tips would be appreciated :)

P.S. Someone (sorry I can't remember who) asked me how we pronounce Eamon's name. It's just like Damon, only take off the D. It's an Irish name (I have a cousin with the same name) and I never thought it would be so unique, but we have found out that a LOT of people have never heard of it. He gets called EE-mon all the time, which drives me crazy, or Amen, which makes me smile :)

Gratituesday: August 4th

Today I am thankful that my two oldest boys are at a Catholic day camp. They went last week and will finish up this Friday. They take a bus that picks them up around the corner from our house, and they are having SO.MUCH.FUN!!

Every morning they begin their day with a prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Following this, they have swimming lessons, which has really improved their skills at the beach. Then they have arts and crafts, boating lessons, dance classes, lunch, free swim, and playground time.

I love the fact that they are being active and social all day long. We know two of the adults that run the camp, so I know they are safe, and they are in Heaven.

I must say, Phil and I are loving the break as well ;)

The only thing we are not so thankful for is the songs they come home singing from the bus ride. "Gotta get that boom, boom, boom" and "She wears high heels, I wear sneakers, she's cheer captain and I'm on the bleachers".

Don't get me wrong, I loves me a little Black Eyed Peas and Taylor Swift, but my 4 and 6 year old should be singing their ABC's, not the Top 40 hits ;)

So what are you thankful for today?
