Hi Lo: October 23rd

HI's:

1) I ran 8 miles on Wed afternoon - longest yet :)

2) I was looking at a magazine (US Weekly, I know it's so shallow) and saw pictures of all of these beautiful actresses and was complaining to Phil that I will never look like them. (I was hormonal, ok?) And Maggie came over and pointed to a picture of Carrie Underwood and said "Mommy". She thought I looked like Carrie Underwood!! Well, that just about made my week :) It's nice to remember how we are seen through our children's eyes and God's eyes every once in a while.

3) John-Paul got his first report card! As far as academics go, he has all A's and A+'s. But when it comes to listening to the teacher, being respectful of classmates, etc. he got B's and A-'s. He is smart but LOVES to joke around with his friends, and thinks he knows it all (wonder where he gets that from??) Overall he got a 91. Pretty good!

4)We went to a Cranberry Festival a while ago, and I finally got all the pictures together....scroll down to the bottom of the last post.

LO's

1) I ate 4 cookies on Wed night...oh, I am so bad!

2) Have been up awake a few nights because I keep coughing until I vomit. But everyone says it's a virus and there's nothing I can do.

What were your highs and lows this week?

  1. 8 miles, way to go! I don't think I can even fathom RUNNING that far.

Carrie Underwood??!! You are so lucky! That's a great compliment. Isn't it amazing how often we forget that we are a child of God and don't need to be a 'perfect' looking celebrity to be loved as such? So easy to forget!

Hope you feel better and get over that icky cough.

    Enjoy your weekend!

  3. Hey Colleen! Thanks for your comments! I too miss the days of all of us hanging out. :)
Um...I think you were entitled to those cookies deary, HELLO, you ran EIGHT miles???? I wish I could run!
I do the power walk at the Gym on the treadmill, ya know, the walk where the arms are flailing back and forth?
Well, fuuny story... I was 'power walking' the other day, and at my Gym there are a lot of disabled and down syndrome people that work out there, as it is a rehab also.
This one young lady w/ DS came over to me and asked me if I was doing that 'power walk exercise'? I said "yes". She said to me, "Oh, I thought maybe you took your silly pill this morning". LMAO!!!!
    I was in stitches!
    Have a good one!
    Hope you feel better, too!

  6. Geez oh Pete....8 miles! I could never make it a step over 6..and now, I'd doubt if I could do 2!
    There's a low for you! :)
Love that Carrie comment! Hope you gave a great big bag of candy after that one! One of my kids did the same to me...someone I KNOW I look nothing like. And it made me in a good mood all day. How immature is that?!!

  7. Wow, 8 miles?! Good for you.

A cranberry festival sounds like fun, I bet there was a lot of delcious food.

Thanks for visiting my blog, I like yours, am now following and looking forward to reading more.

  8. Congrats on the 8 miles! WOW!

Um, my daughter found a pic of a frizzy-haired, heavy-set lady and said "Mama." Can I borrow Maggie? Of course, to Bella's credit she later found a great, flattering pic of me and said "Mama's so beautiful!" lol

I get an annual cough, kind of a chronic bronchitis and refuse to take syrup for it (I'm a big baby when it comes to liquid med). My new best friend is Mucinex, and Walmart has a generic (Guafenisine). If you're interested. Hope you feel better soon!

  10. That's so sweet of your daughter!!! Gosh, I hope you feel better soon - I responded to your comment on my blog, and rather than pasting the almost-novella I wrote in response to you, come check it out when you get a chance.

    :)

  11. Ooh, I hope your cough is better! And 4 cookies isn't all THAT much - probably less calories than 1 piece of cake!

8 miles is awesome. I'm having a hard time fitting any running in, and am looking forward to when we change the clocks around (not crazy about running in the dark).

    Have a great day Carrie!
