A Halloween and All Saints Day Poem,
Starting at my little sister's lovely home.
Where candy numbers were guessed,
And donut races, kids' faces messed.
Height was a handicap for some,
As was slow-eating for this one.
Bingo came next and everyone was a winner,
And neighborhood rides, followed by dinner.
Then down to the village for trick-or-treating,
Candy-gathering and meet-and-greeting.
The weather was gorgeous, the sky divine,
And for some trick-or-treaters, it was the end of their time.
So many houses were hit, plenty of candy was fed,
And finally the children were sent off to bed.
To awaken the next morn to a new celebration,
All Saints Day costumes, mom needs a vacation.
Saint Francis of Assisi arrived with a cute little ewe,
Saint Padre Pio was there, complete with stigmata - eew.
St. Michael looked grand with his sword and no fuss,
All ye heavenly men and women - PRAY FOR US!
I sure loved to read these rhymes

ReplyDeleteThis is so fun. So many clever ideas. I was usually pooped after making costumes when my kids were younger.
