Preparing for and Praying up a Storm

Yikes, we are getting a big snow storm on Saturday!!!  We went last night to get groceries, knowing the stores would be crazy busy on Friday afternoon and not having time to go tonight due to basketball games and a meeting.  So we should be all set to ride out the stormwith plenty of food, just praying we don't lose power!

 Speaking of prayer, I have been alternating daily praying of the Litany of Humility and the Litany of Trust...and wow...just wow...these prayers are difficult and convicting!  I'll leave them here for you to read through.  When I get discouraged about how far away I am from sainthood, I try and remember that we are called Practicing Catholics for a reason ;)

{you repeat the phrase in all caps after each line, after the ...}

What intention of yours can I pray for?

  1. Please pray that a situation at work will be quickly solved. Thank you

  2. That God will relieve my anxiety when it comes to driving on the interstate and at night. I've always been an anxious driver but my anxiety is getting worse the older I get. Thank you for your prayers.

  3. I love both of those prayers! But oh, are they challenging! Can you join me in praying for my husband? He is a man of faith and is struggling with some career challenges. Thank you! Please know I will pray for your family as well.

  4. Best of luck with the storm this weekend! You will do just fine. Plenty of food and young people to help with the shoveling and a great opportunity to bond even more. My Dad always said that "I had so many of you kids (7) so you can help shovel in the winter," lol.

  5. These are some very all -encompassing prayers. Thanks for sharing. I would so appreciate it if you would pray that Mini chooses the right college where she will be safe, happy, challenged and make great friendships. And maybe Reg, who is really having difficulty playing basketball while being a perfectionist - so hard on himself that it is unsettling. Thanks, Colleen. I will keep you in my prayers. I continue to pray for your dad.

  7. These are very powerful and emotional litanies. Thank you for sharing. Both nights already moved to tears. I think they are already a blessing to me.
